Join our Team! Applications are invited for a part-time Occupational Therapist position with I. V. League of Occupational Therapists.

This position is not Toronto-centric; therefore applicants who live/work outside the City of Toronto are more than welcome to apply.

I.V. League of Occupational Therapists provides assessment and intervention services to Auto Insurance agencies, Law firms (plaintiff and defense), and WSIB. While our head office is Toronto-based, our therapists work and travel throughout Ontario. We provide Occupational therapy assessment and treatment services from the Greater Golden Horseshoe through to northern, eastern and western Ontario.

Your role could include: hospital discharge planning, attendant care assessments, home and work environment assessments, insurer’s examinations, future care analyses, non-earner benefits, functional abilities evaluations, review of surveillance.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s licence, willingness to travel within Ontario and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
  • A minimum of 2 years clinical experience in areas noted in the above caseload
  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current valid registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Superior interpersonal skills (working with a diverse clientele, coordinating with clients, family, community members & stakeholders
  • Proficient use of information technology (excellent, efficient report writing)
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking and decision making is crucial to conducting effective, accurate assessments
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

Assets:

  • Experience in the Automotive Insurance industry
  • Experience in the Medicolegal industry
  • Familiarity with Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule legislation
  • Familiarity with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board
  • Familiarity with the ARCON Assessment system
